Sacramento Maternity Photographer | Stylish Cristin

Cristin is a fabulous person, she has a way about her that exudes effortlessness and happiness. I first met her over a year ago to do an anniversaryย couple’s session with her and her husband in Placerville. She also has a photography business, excellent taste and style, and is expecting a baby girl! Her and her husband, Matt, are affectionate, oh so funny, and really sweet on each other.

These two live in San Francisco, in the heart of the city near the ocean, walking distance to cafes, parks, and bustling city life. Tucked away in the adorable apartment is a little haven of wonderful-ness that Cristin has expertly styled, with functional form and beautiful simplicity. Enter her gorgeous belly and we have ourselves some serious eye candy.

More importantly, most importantly actually, is the loving environment these two have created in their little bungalow of a home. There is so.much.love. They are going to be amazing parents, they don’t take themselves seriously, they have joy in their relationship, they are excited to meet their baby girl and raise her as they live…with beautiful grace and affection.

I am always honored to photograph another photographer. I am slightly nervous and flattered and equally excited ๐Ÿ™‚ But to photograph another photographer more than once! Eek! I love it. Cristin is incredibly gracious and it warms my heart to be able to give her these images. Documenting her pregnancy, her joy, in her home before the birth of her baby girl is something I will treasure. Much love and thanks to this special couple and congratulations on the future birth of their sweet child. I can’t wait to see photos of her girl on Instagram (I admit I do stalk/follow my clients ๐Ÿ˜‰ and I love it!) So without further ado…meet Cristin and Matt, in her home and at Baker Beach in San Francisco!

Folsom Maternity Photographer | Melissa + Paul

This gorgeous gal is my cousin. She is glowing with anticipation of her little girl’s arrival, and I feel like I should blog her session before she gives birth…so here is Melissa and her sweet husband, and her adorable little pup, June. Melissa is radiant, she smiles like this all the time because she is just that happy with her life, her marriage, and her little girl still tucked away in her belly.

Pregnancy is one of those things for me…I miss it more when it is over. There is no comparison to having that baby in your arms for the first time, but I do sometimes get a little nostalgic for that time when the baby was all mine ย ๐Ÿ˜‰ ย there is this special bond formed between a baby and a mama even though they have not yet met. ย I am sure it is the same for my sweet cousin. There is something magical about this time, right before baby arrives, when the nights are still quiet, yet you know that something amazing and wonderful and really, really cool is going to happen.

She was in town for her baby shower and I made sure to get some time with them. At sunset, of course ๐Ÿ™‚ the pretty light and even prettier mama made for some lovely images.

Maternity sessions are best scheduled between 32 and 36 weeks, when mama has an adorable bump, but is still comfortable. Maternity shoots are meant to show off more than the belly, they are (for me anyway) meant to show the love that these future parents have for each other and their growing family. As the belly grows, so does their relationship. It is made stronger by the fact that they have MADE something together that is bigger then themselves. It is always an honor for me to document this time in someone’s life. Truly an honor. I am ecstatic for my cousin…cannot wait to meet her baby girl so very soon!

Sacramento Maternity Photographer | Bre in Seattle

My gorgeous friend (who is also a very talented wedding photographer!) has given birth to a beautiful baby girl… but before she had her daughter I was able to get a few maternity photos of her. I was invited/invited myself over to her house in Washington this past May, and spent the week with her and her family visiting all of the Seattle sites…the public market, the flagship Nordstrom store (sigh it was like my own mothership calling me home!), Alki beach, the quaint neighborhood in Queen Anne… it was the perfect vacation! She was a gracious tour guide. I miss my friend dearly, she moved from California to Washington and I feel like I just do not see her often enough these days. Unless you count Facebook as a way of “seeing someone” ๐Ÿ˜‰ I love that I was able to give her a few images of her belly!

Her maternity session was shot on a very rainy day, I hear this is normal for Seattle ๐Ÿ™‚ My friend Chloe (another very talented wedding photographer in Washington) and I spent the afternoon photographing Bre. We were in the same space and spent the same time with her, and it is always so fabulous to see the world through each other’s eyes. Chloe’s images are gorgeous and you can see her’s here ๐Ÿ™‚ We did wrap ourselves in warm winter ware and head outside for the last part of the session. I didn’t have a bag for my camera and it was just raining too hard, so you have to click over to Chloe’s blog to see the beautiful rainy photos she took ๐Ÿ™‚

Without further ado, I would like to share these images of the lovely Bre. She was glowing, so beautiful, and it was no wonder seeing the precious girl she now holds in her arms. I love you, my friend!
