Folsom Family Photographer | Liz + Joe + Adalee

I love this family. Liz and Joe are totally my people and every single time I get a chance to see them I have the BEST time. They have been by my side when I almost get plowed over by a bike at their engagement session, ran around in the sprinkling rain and acted like super heroes together at their wedding, joked and laughed almost nonstop through their sweet maternity and newborn sessions, and I am so happy they came back again for photos of their baby girl turning one! I am so honored to share Liz has started her own photography business, Elizabeth Koston Photography, and is doing phenomenally!! Happy birthday little one, you are so very loved!

Yosemite Family Photographer | My Family

I recently read a great quote by Elizabeth Gilbert about balance and life and it rang so true to me and inspired me to be ok with editing and sharing some personal photos when I am still working furiously on my client work. That woman is wise…and I am going to try my darndest to live this every day.

“If you can get some stuff done in the chaos sometimes, god bless you. If you can basically hold it together, propping yourself up with duct tape and glue, rock on. If you can manage stay upright even one hour a day, you’re doing pretty great, as far as I’m concerned. And if you can be kind to the other stumbling fools around you half the time — well, that’s just heroic.

Basically, I think we are all just sloppy stupendous champions.” – Elizabeth Gilbert

We took the kids to Yosemite for spring break this year (so many months ago in March) and we had an absolute blast. I love when we all ship out somewhere as a family, living in close quarters, all piled on top of each other, exploring, getting dirty. We may not have hiked any mountains (the toddler dictates our activities haha) or adventured like we used to pre-kids, but we did this trip together and that is what matters. This is embarrassingly my first trip to Yosemite. I don’t know how I have lived 37 years without visiting this glorious, amazing place.

Wow.

No words to describe driving into Yosemite for the first time.

I still get goosebumps thinking about it.

We played “My House”, all the windows down, sunroof open, in awe of the majestic beauty. Every time I hear that song I know think of Yosemite.

Now to put a bride and groom in this glorious park (hint hint) I would love to shoot a wedding here one day, universe.

Thank you, world, for looking at my family photos. I love photographing my kids and need to to it more this year. Being a family storyteller is such a joy and I loved reliving our trip through these images.

Lake Tahoe Kings Beach Family Photographer | Nolan + His Family

Beautiful Tahoe and a beautiful family. I love this couple and their baby boy! I had the pleasure of meeting Jenna and Tom at their wedding a few years back. I was very pregnant with my second boy at their engagement and when Jenna called me after the wedding to let me know she was pregnant with a boy I was elated for them! Their maternity was amazing, and their newborn session was my favorite lifestyle kind of shoot. I love how Jenna and Tom have an overwhelming love for their son. It was awesome seeing him at one year old, enjoying Tahoe, checking out the planes flying overhead, fascinated with the sand and water. I was so happy I could meet them on a family trip and photograph them at the lake. Thank you Jenna and Tom for having me photograph your family once again! I cannot wait to see you all again soon (this time with their pup Woody, who was probably feeling totally left out since this is the first session we’ve had without him!!) Happy birthday Nolan!!
