Maya and Dan are wonderful people. I had the pleasure of photographing their engagement and wedding at Park Winters few years ago. We met at her parent’s home, a beautiful farm property in Napa Valley. They wanted to capture some of the natural beauty in the land around their home. Maya is absolutely radiant. She is so warm, caring, and one of my all time favorite brides. Ever. She has always been a pure joy to photograph and I was so thrilled when they contacted me for maternity and newborn photography. Sacramento Newborn Photographer | Baby Maxwell in Davis

It is always a pleasure when I get to drop in on a family and photograph those first few days at home with a newborn. I met Baby Maxwell and his family in Davis, near Sacramento, for his newborn photography.

In home newborn sessions are where it’s at. I don’t bring any props or blankets, and instead prefer to use items from the family’s home. It is personal and intimate and makes the images mean so much more. When I met Meghan and her family I was instantly at peace in their home. I have two boys myself and love the quiet chaos (and sometimes not so quiet!) that comes along with a new baby. It all takes me right back to those first few weeks with my own family of four. The way big brother jumps around the baby, showing off, showing him the ropes, showering him with love. I adore the way this couple softly spoke to their boys, voices brimming with affection and patience. They truly enjoy their children and love the energy and fun their children bring.

Meghan is a very cool mom and recently started her own business, Poppy and Oak Goods, with beautifully curated gift boxes packed full of items from local vendors.

I love taking a few moments with siblings during newborn sessions. While the parents are getting ready I followed big brother into his room and let him find me his favorite book. We checked out his stash of toys and he showed me his favorite stuffed animals. It is important to me to document all of the children in the home during a newborn session, the family may be growing but the other siblings need some alone time with my camera too! In those quiet moments I am able to get them to open up to me and show some personality for their photos. It helps to gain their trust so the session flows smoothly.

Sacramento Maternity Photographer | Gabi + Ryan in Roseville

I met with this growing family in Roseville, near Sacramento, for maternity photos. This session was so much more. Being a photographer is a job I do not take lightly. I fall in love with my families and want to share their stories, love, and joy. I love being a part of these epic life changing adventures.

There is nothing sweeter than a new baby. The anticipation and excitement of pregnancy is only by the overwhelming love you have for this tiny, new life inside. This couple has been dreaming about the little boy inside this gorgeous belly for a long, long time. After many failed attempts at pregnancy they finally struck gold with in vitro. The challenges surrounding in vitro were worth it in the end. I cannot even imagine the pure joy Gabi felt when she saw that positive pregnancy test.

Photographing this milestone was an honor. Their miracle baby boy was born two days ago and in celebration of his birth I am sharing their maternity photos.

We met at their home for some intimate images that capture them relaxing together, cuddling on the sofa, and enjoying each other’s company before baby boy arrived. I adore in-home sessions for families, maternity, newborn (even engagements) because the resulting photos really show the where to this family’s why. They fell in love, bought their home, were blessed with this pregnancy, and were preparing his nursery within the walls they find the most comfort and peace. It is always a true pleasure to document families in their natural environment.

After lounging around their house we went out to one of their favorite parks…a dog park where they walk their pups, Bijou and Lucy. I was giddy in the soft grass. We took some images in this soft golden California light. There is nothing like California sunsets.
