I met Sophia over e-mail a few months back and was so excited to do a maternity session with her and her husband at their home in San Francisco. The sunset was perfect the night we met, and the views from their balcony were amazing. I can’t wait to meet her baby girl! Congratulations to this lovely couple!
After talking on the phone about all of the details for her San Francisco home and Lands End maternity session I was absolutely thrilled to meet Grace and her husband. She greeted me with so much warmth and serenity on the day of her photo shoot. She was expecting her first child, gender unknown. We talked about their decision to keep the gender a surprise until delivery, her desire for a calm and peaceful birth experience, and her love of New York and her husband.
We began our session in her lovely house, cozy, colorful, and in a fabulous part of San Francisco. Her little one will be a city baby, born to feel the pulse of this gorgeous city by the bay. Grace and her husband have started the journey towards parenthood and it goes by quickly enough that it is important to document the growing belly, rich with life, and the growing love between Grace and her supportive and caring husband. He spoke fondly to the baby in Chinese, sweet tones that travel through her to his unborn child. This family is filled with love.
After photographing this lovely lady in her home, we traveled to the Lands End and Sutro Baths area of San Francisco. Along the coast the winds blew with such force we struggled to walk towards the impressive cliffs and vast views overlooking the Pacific Ocean. Grace’s hair blew with such artistry, it was amazing and I loved every second.
Oh this view. I will never tire of this view. It is as if she is looking out over her unknown future as a mother. Counting on the strength her child will give her to help her navigate these new waters in her life.
And this love. Oh sweet love, the way a couple can laugh together. It makes my heart sing.
Thank you to Grace and her husband for their willingness to brave the winds with me!
Cristin is a fabulous person, she has a way about her that exudes effortlessness and happiness. I first met her over a year ago to do an anniversary couple’s session with her and her husband in Placerville. She also has a photography business, excellent taste and style, and is expecting a baby girl! Her and her husband, Matt, are affectionate, oh so funny, and really sweet on each other.
These two live in San Francisco, in the heart of the city near the ocean, walking distance to cafes, parks, and bustling city life. Tucked away in the adorable apartment is a little haven of wonderful-ness that Cristin has expertly styled, with functional form and beautiful simplicity. Enter her gorgeous belly and we have ourselves some serious eye candy.
More importantly, most importantly actually, is the loving environment these two have created in their little bungalow of a home. There is so.much.love. They are going to be amazing parents, they don’t take themselves seriously, they have joy in their relationship, they are excited to meet their baby girl and raise her as they live…with beautiful grace and affection.
I am always honored to photograph another photographer. I am slightly nervous and flattered and equally excited 🙂 But to photograph another photographer more than once! Eek! I love it. Cristin is incredibly gracious and it warms my heart to be able to give her these images. Documenting her pregnancy, her joy, in her home before the birth of her baby girl is something I will treasure. Much love and thanks to this special couple and congratulations on the future birth of their sweet child. I can’t wait to see photos of her girl on Instagram (I admit I do stalk/follow my clients 😉 and I love it!) So without further ado…meet Cristin and Matt, in her home and at Baker Beach in San Francisco!
