I loved seeing Bianca at her maternity session.  She is a beautiful mama and radiates peace and love for her new baby son. He is precious, although he didn’t want to sleep during our session together. The best part about an at-home newborn session is allowing the baby to be comfortable. Everyone is happier when they’re in their own space.

Why do I love newborn sessions? So many reasons. The first is seeing families again. I enjoy photographing maternity images, so seeing them ready to add to their family and then a few weeks later with baby in arms is amazing! Capturing the time when life is a complete blur is an honor. The first few weeks with a new baby are sleep deprived, delirious, giddy, exhausting, frustrating, exhilarating times. All of the human emotions come out in full force. I find I cannot remember the intricate details of my new baby years later, and I love photographing newborns for this reason. To give parents the gift of memory on film.

I love going into the homes of families again and again. With each new child comes a new dynamic. The way I photograph them changes and the way they interact with each other changes. It is like seeing a family  in a new light every time I return. Thank you Andrea and Brian, for letting me photograph your family again!

Family photography is special to me. I cherish the photos of my boys as babies and want to give that gift to all of my families.

I met Victoria and Dustin at their maternity session. When their little boy arrived I met them at their house, because in home is always better. When we are in a comfortable space everyone is happy. This little boy was sleepy and loved being held. We spent some time outside, in the garden, where Dustin is working on growing a garden for his family. He told me all about how he can’t wait for Edward to join him there soon.
