Are maternity photographs important?
I did maternity photographs with both my boys. There is nothing more incredible than growing a life inside your body. For reals. It is weird and alien like and kind of scary when you stop to think about the grand exit, but it is really cool when it’s happening. I didn’t really enjoy being pregnant. Honestly, it drained the life out of me and I was very jealous of the glowing mamas out there. What I do love is looking back with rose colored glasses. My maternity photos really do help me with that. I feel more connected to my pregnancies now, years later, than I did when it was happening.
The hazy yet fond recollections of my children in their early stages are brought into clear focus when I flip through my maternity photographs.
So yes, maternity photos are important if you believe you will miss this stage. And for those of you who feel like you won’t ever miss being pregnant, they are even more important.

Plus I do always love seeing my families again. I really, really, really love seeing you all again. We share our birth stories, talk about how hard it is to have a newborn baby, chat about the horrors of learning to breast feed, and snuggle your sweet smelling baby.
