Maya and Dan are wonderful people. I had the pleasure of photographing their engagement and wedding at Park Winters few years ago. We met at her parent’s home, a beautiful farm property in Napa Valley. They wanted to capture some of the natural beauty in the land around their home. Maya is absolutely radiant. She is so warm, caring, and one of my all time favorite brides. Ever. She has always been a pure joy to photograph and I was so thrilled when they contacted me for maternity and newborn photography. I loved seeing Bianca at her maternity session.  She is a beautiful mama and radiates peace and love for her new baby son. He is precious, although he didn’t want to sleep during our session together. The best part about an at-home newborn session is allowing the baby to be comfortable. Everyone is happier when they’re in their own space.

Why do I love newborn sessions? So many reasons. The first is seeing families again. I enjoy photographing maternity images, so seeing them ready to add to their family and then a few weeks later with baby in arms is amazing! Capturing the time when life is a complete blur is an honor. The first few weeks with a new baby are sleep deprived, delirious, giddy, exhausting, frustrating, exhilarating times. All of the human emotions come out in full force. I find I cannot remember the intricate details of my new baby years later, and I love photographing newborns for this reason. To give parents the gift of memory on film.

I met Bianca a few years ago. She was a bridesmaid in two weddings I photographed. When her and her husband planned their maternity and newborn photos they contacted me, and it was awesome to see her again! They included their sweet pup in their photos. This little dog loved frolicking in the hills during our session. Life might change when baby arrives, but for now this family of three is loving pregnancy!
