Sacramento Family Photographer | Generations

Gina is a friend from High School (actually pre-high school but those days are too embarrassing for me to relive!) and I am so incredibly honored she has chosen me to photograph her family through the years. I am so thrilled for her, expecting her second child. She is radiant. I remember photographing her newborn session for her daughter (who is now 2), and a family session for the three of them last year.

Her and her sister wanted to surprise their parents with a generations photo session with the grandkids for their 40th wedding anniversary. It was my pleasure to meet up with these gorgeous sisters, their little girls, and their parents for this special photo session. I remember Sandy and Ken’s amazing kindness from my younger days, and this couple remains genuine and loving. I really did have an amazing time getting some of the love and affection these two have for each other after 40 years together. It is truly an inspiration to many when sweet couples are still so obviously in love after half a lifetime together.

Gina and her sister, Alyssa, were such good sports as we trooped the kids around in Livermore for this session. The golden sun was the perfect backdrop for all of the giggles and laughter I was able to capture for them. Thank you to this very special family for allowing me to document this time in their family. I wish Gina the best with the rest of her pregnancy and I am looking forward to meeting her little guy in December 🙂

Folsom Family Photographer | Brandt Family

I met up with Jessica and her family for an outdoor family portrait session in Folsom, California a few months back. Lovely green stalks still graced the open field, and her families gorgeous complexions and fiery red hair complimented this natural setting perfectly. Thank you to this sweet family for allowing me to provide them a few images of their growing children.

This family is at home in the outdoors, often taking family camping trips and vacations in the mountains. They want to expose their children to a life filled with fresh air and sunshine, and that is probably why I am so fond of them. I adore sweet siblings the kind of kids that are gentle with each other, and truly love each other. These lovely children are a true joy to be around and their parents are so kind and compassionate with them.

Family photography, to me at least, should show a little more than a standard portrait. I feel happiest when I can connect with my clients on a deeper level and unearth their personalities, true smiles, and soft interaction. There is always a moment where a family is really being themselves and individual personalities are shining through…those are my favorite moments to capture. Putting children at ease and drawing them out is always my goal during a family portrait session.

Family means so much to me, I never want to forget the way my husband laughs with my two boys. I always feel like I am given the opportunity to get to know people in their elements when they are with their own families during a session, and that is such an honor. A philosophy I was exposed to from some industry leaders I admire, being a photographer is about more than showing off what people look like…it is about showing who they are and how they are with others that they love.

Folsom Family Photographer | Springtime

Family photos don’t have to happen in the fall…sometimes what we all need is a spring or summer session, dancing in Folsom wildflowers with the sunset glowing around us 🙂 I met up with this gorgeous family this spring, on an exceptionally warm evening, with mosquitos buzzing over our heads and happy laughter of these sweet kids in my ears. This family is really something special, we had some awesome conversation, some fun with the kids, and took some photos in one of my favorite Folsom locations. The sun shined through the trees and we wandered the still-green field dotted with purple wildflowers.

I always love when my clients have some adventure brewing below gentle smiles 🙂 And when hair blows…well, you all know I love some good wind and when there isn’t any we make it on our own 🙂

I adore these images, kids laughing, mom smiling, dad proud to call these happy people his own.And best of all dad’s can make their kids fly! Swinging them around, dancing with them, playing and laughing…the best way to get 1000 watt grins that is for sure 🙂

I love every opportunity I have to photograph families. Family photography means so much to me now that I have children. When parents are able to be IN the images with their kids it warms my heart. Natural interaction, genuine smiles, and positively fun sessions are always my goals during family photo sessions.

I often get asked what to wear to a family session and this family did a great job showing off some comfortable outfits perfect the setting, soft tones in the green field, crisp whites and creams, and most of all coordinating without having to match exactly!
