Folsom Family Photographer | Cueva Family

Sydney and Ben and Charlie and Max met up with me in Folsom on a balmy October evening.  It was 80 degrees outside and the sun was low in the sky complete with beautiful and soft light for their family session.  It really was a perfect evening to document Max’s 6 months and get some family photos with their growing children!

This adorable and sweet family of four are one of my all-time favorite family clients and I have LOVED seeing the kids grow up over the last couple of years.  I have been taking this family’s photos since Charlie was a newborn and it is always a pleasure to see them 🙂  It is so amazing to document a child’s life through photos, and such an honor to share milestones and become friends with awesome people!  I remember the first time I met these folks, and they were so warm and inviting and it was no surprise that I immediately felt comfortable in their home.

We spent this session wandering around Folsom by the river and talking about their family’s recent trip to Hawaii…I was living vicariously through their vacation as Sydney recounted how much fun it was watching the kids play at the beach and talking about how much Charlie loved the ocean.  I watched the sunlight bounce around in the girl’s lightened hair, fresh from the beach, and I knew this was going to be a great photo session.

In between conversation, we took some photos, and Sydney and Ben played with the kids, and they all smiled and laughed 🙂

These girls are gorgeous!

It might be hectic with two children under the age of two…but there is so much love and affection in this family, it always warms my heart to spend time with them.
Adorable 🙂I love this little boy!So sweet, Charlie loves her little brother so much.He has so.much.hair! I cannot get over his hair. All smiles 🙂 Until next time! I cannot wait to see the kids again 🙂

Sacramento Newborn Photographer | Baby Sprout

Kellie is a dear friend and one of my very first brides! She was married last year and you might recognize her from her wedding photos 🙂  I was overjoyed when this wonderfully kind couple announced their pregnancy!  I have been looking forward to doing this little boy’s newborn session for a while, and he definitely did not disappoint.  Their pup, George, also joined in the fun.

At Kellie and Matt’s wedding, there was a reading from The Velveteen Rabbit.  I tear up know thinking about Kellie and Matt’s love was the beginning of making their baby boy real.

“Weeks passed, and the little Rabbit grew very old and shabby, but the Boy loved him just as much. He loved him so hard that he loved all his whiskers off, and the pink lining to his ears turned grey and his brown spots faded. He even began to lose his shape, and he scarcely looked like a rabbit anymore, except to the Boy. To him he was always beautiful, and that was all that the little Rabbit cared about. He didn’t mind how he looked to other people, because the nursery magic had made him Real, and when you are Real shabbiness doesn’t matter.” – Margery Williams Bianco

This little family is going to love their boy forever…

I love his tiny little baby feet 🙂He is such a sweetheart!Love.

In between feeding after feeding, he managed a few sweet smiles for us.
Sweet dreams little man!George absolutely loves his new baby brother.  He softly walks around him, protects him, and makes sure mom and dad are fully aware when baby is crying 🙂Again…I adore his little toes 🙂Congratulations Kellie and Matt on the birth of your healthy and sweet baby boy! I can’t wait to document his first year for you.

Folsom Family Photographer | Bre + Reid

I was so excited to photograph my good friend, Bre Thurston, and her son, Reid last month when she was visiting from Seattle. Bre is a wedding photographer and new transplant to WA state 🙂  She has taken our family photos every year and I was looking forward to getting the chance to do some photos for her.

We loaded up the car and headed out to a sunny little hideaway spot, armed with fruit snacks and toy cars…hoping for lots of smiles and a cooperative four-year old.  I believe the session was a success, we kicked around a lot of dirt, hugged, cuddled, and played our way through!  This little guy put up a fight and was not completely sold on the idea of photos, but in the end his love for his goofy and incredibly sweet mama won him over.  Reid is one of the sweetest little boys I know and it warms my heart watching him interact with his mama.

There is nothing I love more than images of mothers and sons playing and laughing…that could be because I am the mom to a wild little three-year-old myself!  Moms, you all know there is nothing better than your little man’s arms wrapped around your neck in a huge hug.

I love the smiles, but something about a serious little child is just beautiful.

I. Love. This. Image!  This is parenthood and makes all the tough times worth it!Being a mother is hard work, and there are so many things that you are never told about the trials and reality of life with a child…but there is also a pure joy and happiness that comes from the bond with your little boy 🙂These two are so stinking cute!Love!
And one of Bre…she really is as fun as she looks!
