Folsom Family Photographer | Delaney is One

I cannot believe this little girl is already one, I swear she was just in her mama’s belly during our maternity session last year. I took her newborn portraits last June and time has whipped by so quickly I was in shock it was time to take her first year photos. This little peanut is so much fun, so lively, so much spunk in her tiny body. I can always tell the little girls that will do well in life 🙂 the ones that have a wonderful spirit and a confidence that is well beyond their years.

I met up with baby D’s gorgeous mom and awesomely cool dad in Folsom for some outdoor portraits to celebrate her first birthday! Shout out to this stylish mom’s fabulous skills, if you are in the market for a hair artist you need to contact her: Jennifer at Indie Salon 🙂

Oh this sweet face. This little girl is so loved.

Something about this image just says ‘motherhood’ to me. A bleary, quick moving time in our lives where we hug and love and protect our children. Trying to raise them and lift them up, molding compassionate and healthy adults. It goes by too quickly. For a short time and hopefully for always our children look at us with peace and no-holds love.

Anita Martin Photography is currently booking maternity, child, and family sessions in the Northern California area. Local Sacramento and Folsom families will be treated to a session at their home or outdoor location of their choice. Sessions can begin in the home with a secondary location outside! In-home sessions allow a greater level of personality to be infused in the images, showing your children in their natural setting, amongst their belongings and toys. I focus on the relationships between you and your family and children during your session and it is my priority to document the way you interact with each other.

Folsom Maternity Photographer | Whitney

I met with Cami for a mini maternity session in one of my favorite Folsom fields. Surprise to us all, she ended up having her baby girl only days after our shoot! I am so glad we were able to get together for a session before her first child made her grand entrance into the world 🙂

We chatted about school districts, summer plans, and childbirth as we wandered the warm paths on the way to this grassy oasis. It was not more than 20 minutes later we wrapped our session, with me waving wildly to swat away the mosquitos 😉 I love summer, the sun, warmth (Frozen influence here haha), but those dang mosquitos can ride off into a sunset somewhere!!

Many thanks to a few dear friends for referring Cami and her husband to me to photograph their maternity session! I appreciate those kind referrals more than anything.

Maternity mini sessions are a great way to document a growing belly during pregnancy. I love capturing these moments before your baby has arrived. There is nothing in the world like a glowing mama-to-be, laughing in the sunset light, excited and nervous with anticipation of her first baby. The way Cami holds her belly so sweetly makes me smile, for it is a day so soon she will be holding her baby with those same hands.

Natural field locations, like this one in Folsom California make for a beautiful backdrop for your photography session. Neutral colors that work with the green tones in the soft grasses, soft blue skies, and golden sunsets are perfect for my expectant mamas to wear 🙂 Don’t know what to wear? Please ask! Folsom Family Photographer | Springtime

Family photos don’t have to happen in the fall…sometimes what we all need is a spring or summer session, dancing in Folsom wildflowers with the sunset glowing around us 🙂 I met up with this gorgeous family this spring, on an exceptionally warm evening, with mosquitos buzzing over our heads and happy laughter of these sweet kids in my ears. This family is really something special, we had some awesome conversation, some fun with the kids, and took some photos in one of my favorite Folsom locations. The sun shined through the trees and we wandered the still-green field dotted with purple wildflowers.

I always love when my clients have some adventure brewing below gentle smiles 🙂 And when hair blows…well, you all know I love some good wind and when there isn’t any we make it on our own 🙂

I adore these images, kids laughing, mom smiling, dad proud to call these happy people his own.And best of all dad’s can make their kids fly! Swinging them around, dancing with them, playing and laughing…the best way to get 1000 watt grins that is for sure 🙂

I love every opportunity I have to photograph families. Family photography means so much to me now that I have children. When parents are able to be IN the images with their kids it warms my heart. Natural interaction, genuine smiles, and positively fun sessions are always my goals during family photo sessions.

I often get asked what to wear to a family session and this family did a great job showing off some comfortable outfits perfect the setting, soft tones in the green field, crisp whites and creams, and most of all coordinating without having to match exactly!
