Every couple feels like they have known each other forever, but Jessica and Zak have actually known each other and have been best friends since Kindergarten. Planning their wedding at Forest House Lodge in Foresthill, California was only logical 😉 since that venue allowed them to dance, laugh, and celebrate with their closest family and friends. You also might remember these two from their ridiculously adorable engagement session that was blogged last year!
The air was light, relaxed, with that fun vibe that fuels a wedding day. The ceremony site was golden with sunlight pouring through the tall trees with guests admiring the view and taking in the fresh mountain air.
Their love story goes back quite a while and these two have experienced more than their share of life adventures and fun. They have such a silly spirit together, are completely entertained with other’s company, and totally get each other’s hilarious sense of humor. Jessica meticulously planned every detail of her wedding, putting heart and soul into making the day one that they would both enjoy. She also wanted the day to be personal, sweet, and romantic. She succeeded. Guests laughed all day, hugs were exchanged, toasts were given, tears were spilled, and I left their wedding feeling a warmth and love that is so rare to witness. Imagine the stories Jessica and Zak will tell their children, about their lives intersecting so many years ago, leading to these Kindergarten friends to journey towards being husband and wife. Inspiring. I love that she surprised Zak with a little VW bus coming out of their cake, a car that they used to own together, fixed up, and used to cruise in while they fell in love.
I would like to thank Jessica for allowing me to photograph their engagement and wedding. Their joy was contagious and their families were so incredibly excited to be a part of their marriage.
