Imagine a personal, slightly whimsical and beautifully DIY wedding in the California home your groom grew up in… Ashlynn did and let me tell you, their day was magical.
These two lovebirds met in San Diego and Ashlynn and Charlie have spent many days, evenings, weekends, and wee hours hand-making wedding decorations, favors, and planning the perfect wedding day. The sandy beaches of San Diego were lost to a whirlwind of activity preparing for the celebration of their marriage…but they pulled it all together with class and grace. When I first met Ashlynn, she showed up to our consult with a huge binder and even bigger smile, full of inspiration for her day, and I instantly loved her
Pulling up the long driveway to the home of Mr. and Mrs. Anderson allowed me to take in the charming and rustic neighborhood, with horses grazing in a corral at the next door neighbor’s and sunshine peeking between the mature trees. I walked up the path to the front door and was greeted by a cheerful and happy home, one where Charlie was raised and grew into the sweet person he is today.
Ashlynn’s grandmother sewed small purses and personalized hankies for each bridesmaid. She also sewed all of the bunting and banners that adorned the Anderson house.
Charlie and Ashlynn spent their time creating the decorations…and their personal touches were darling!
These girls smiled all day…
…except when the tears of joy were a’flowin’!
The groom spent his morning hanging out with his groomsmen and his little niece and nephew.
Charlie and Ashlynn opted for a first look under the willow trees that Charlie remembers planting…sweet and touching is an understatement!
Gorgeous ladies
And absolutely stunning bride!
This shot pretty much rocks my socks.
The ladies spent their time before the ceremony watching guests arrive from inside the house.
And Ashlynn spent some time with her family, and her hilarious and kind mother!
The sun shone on her as her father walked her down the aisle, down to the orchard where the ceremony took place.
Charlie fought back tears when he saw his beautiful bride.
Their vows were unbelievably touching.
It’s official!!
Even the bridal party celebrated on their march back down the aisle!
These two are so beautiful.
Love this light.
Ashlynn’s father, and her crafty grandmother! I wish I had a fraction of her sewing skills!
To the Andersons

Thank you for opening your home and allowing me to participate in your family’s special day!
Oh boys will be boys
Charlie’s late grandfather’s typewriter was used as their “guest book”.
The speeches were funny and emotional.
Ashlynn’s father spent time talking about his girl, who always succeeded, who made things look easy, who risked it all to move to SD, and found the love of her life there. I admit I teared up a little listening to his outpouring of love and support for his daughter and new son-in-law.
The first dance was lovely under the lights, with their closest family and friends watching.
I apologize for the massive blog post

I had to show off so many images from this special wedding… and I would like to thank Ashlynn and Charlie for trusting me with their wedding photography. I loved every second of your day and I wish you the best in life and love.
